(KPL) Top legislators between Laos and Russia have pledged to enhance the existing bilateral cooperation and constantly exchange lessons on improving draft legislation.The commitment was made when the President of the National Assembly, Mrs Pany Yathortou, received a courtesy visit from the Chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State-Building of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation,
Mr Andrey Klishas, and his delegation, in Vientiane Capital on March 13.Mrs Pany expressed welcome, praised and highly evaluated the working visit to Laos made by Mr Klishas and his delegation, which was a significant contribution to a traditional long-standing cooperation agreement between the Lao National Assembly and the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
In reply, Mr Klishas expressed thanks to the President of the National Assembly, Mrs Pany, for her warm welcome and informed her that the main objective of visiting Laos was to exchange lessons on drafting laws with the National Assembly of Laos.
On the same day, Mr Klishas met his Lao counterpart, Mr Saythong Keoduangdy, the Chair of the Law Committee of the National Assembly of Laos, to share ideas and experiences on drafting laws and national constitution.
The meeting has enabled frank discussion and reviewed the bilateral cooperation between two countries, where the Lao side has proposed a future cooperation on lesson exchange on law amendment with the Russian delegation as well as training members of the National Assembly of Laos regarding law amendment this year.
